Dr. Laurence Oliver has been practicing dentistry in the Metroplex for over 25 years with emphasis in the area of special care dentistry. He became
involved with this field of dentistry when a friend asked him to see his mother in a nursing home. He soon realized that the dental needs of most nursing home residents were not being met. In 1988 he founded ResiDental Associates, a nursing home dental group, which uses portable dental equipment to deliver on-site care. Providing special needs dental care to seniors has given Dr. Oliver exceptional training and experience in dealing with the requirements of the geriatric age group. Since many seniors are dealing with missing teeth, it was natural for Dr. Oliver to seek innovative training and techniques in this area. For his contributions to this field, Dr. Oliver was honored with the prestigious designation of “Diplomate” of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry.
Dr Oliver is also director of the Hope Smile Center. The Smile Center is a charitable dental clinic which is part of the Fort Worth Hope Center. The clinic was founded by Dr Oliver and his wife, Patty, in 2012. Its mission is to fix broken smiles in order to help unemployed adults eat right, boost their self-esteem and make a good impression with potential employers. We then help them find work and become productive members of society. To donate or to find more information, visit www.fwhope.org.
